I moved over to New Port Richey, Florida from where I was living in Ft Lauderdale, Florida in Sept 1985 just after I lost my father. My Dad was retired and was playing in a small Dixieland Jazz style band that were all Doctors and Surgeons from New Port Richey. It was a fun band and they plaed at malls and senior citizen events locally. Dr Wood owned a 1915 America-La-France antique Firetruck in which they would always play on during the Pasco County Chasco-Fiasco parades. He had a great time playing with these guys and they loved having a symphony tuba player playing with their banjo band. When my dad passed they knew me and knew I played the guitar and wanted me to take over his spot for the upcoming 1986 Parade on the Fire Truck. I agreed and suggusted that I play the electric Bass since my Dad was the bottom of the band with his Tuba playing. After a few rehearsals we were all set and had a great time with the band at other shows around town.

Ed Browning was the piano player and was the hippest elderly gent in the band. Was was good at ragtime style piano playing and liked to do contempory pop music (Mid 80's) So he and I found a female vocalist Cheri Cline and started a band called the Generation Gap since Cheri was in her mid 20's I was in my Mid 30's and Ed was looking at 50. Together we had a wide variety of music to pic from and played every weekend with tunes by Madonna.... Jimmy Buffet... Dire Straights and Ed had the oldies covered. We were together For about 2 years and Ed had heart surgery which kept him away from flying. He was also a bicyclist and after his heart quadruple bypass surgery he rode his bicycle from Florida to California and back by himself in order to prove to everyone that he felt healthy and had hope to regain his pilots liscense again. Ed passed away in 1993

I was pleasently surpised late last night when I recieved an E-mail for Cheri Cline our vocalist with the band. I have been trying to find her for years to let her know that I had ceated this website so anyone can hear our music from the past and to let people know that we indeed did exist for a reason... It's too bad that we lost Ed in 1993 and I also just found out last year that his wife Shirley passed away from lung cancer a few years back. Now I just need to find their 3 daughters. Lauri - Penny and their older sister to make sure they can hear these songs of their dad and hopes that they can give me a few more pictures and possibly some live video's of us on our last night together that I remember Shirley took... stay tuned for more info......
