MIKE PIRKO

I was born a musicians son in June of 1950, I grew up outside of Washington DC in Adelphi, Maryland as my father played Tuba in both the Baltimore Symphony and National Symphony Orchestra's.

I learned to play the guitar in 1964 and also trombone in JR and High School bands.

I recieved a music scholarship in 1969 and studied music for 2 years while playing full time 6 nights a week as a lead guitarist in many popular bands in the Washington DC area. I continued to play music full time and traveled throughout the East Coast of the US and many oversea Countries such as Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Costa Rica and spent close to a year in St Thomas US-Virgin Islands playing at the "Frenchmans Reef" Resort Hotel in 1983-84.

I also played in Ceasers Palace Atlantic City and numerous Playboy Clubs with the large Showband "Body and Soul"















   After the loss of my father in 1985 I moved from Ft Lauderdale, Fl to New Port Richey, Fl where my father and I had a home.  I decieded to better my education and went to night school to get a degree in computer electronics in 1998, Was hired by IBM in 1990 and moved to Poughkeepsie, NY. I worked with IBM for 3 years and transferred to Albuquerque, New Mexico and took a job with INTEL Corp where I am now working on my 21st year as a manufacturing technician making computer chips in a Clean Room environment.

I have always played music part time these last 20 years as a guitarist and I have my own home recording studio and a nice collection of Electric guitars. I currently play in an oldies and classic rock band here in New Mexico called "Off The Record".

 I met my wife Marie in Calif while training in my 1st year at INTEL in 1993,

she joined me here in New Mexico in 1994. we were married in Feb 2006. She is also employed with INTEL going on 35 years this OCT 2013. 

 Her hobbie is running, exercising and following sports while I play golf, music and just plain enjoying life. We travel to see our families many times a year. My mom and sister and in Florida and her mom, daughter and family and in the Bay area of San Francisco, Ca.
