1987 REISSUUE OF THE 1968 THINLINE TELECASTER

IN 1968 I GOT MY 1ST TELECASTER. IT WAS JUST LIKE THIS MODEL ONLY IT WAS MADE IN THE USA. I SWITCHED THE TEL MAPLE NECK WITH THE ROSEWOOD NECK I HAD ION MY 65 STRATOCASTER. ONE OF MY CLOSE FRIENDS AT THE TIME ASKED TO BORROW THE "NOW" TELECASTER WITH A STRAT ROSEWOOD NECK SO HE COULD LEARN HOW TO PLAY GUITAR. HE WAS DRAFTED AT SENT TO VIET NAM AND SOLD MY GUITAR BEFORE HE COULD FIND ME TO RETURN IT. I NEVER SAW IT AGAIN. WHAT I DO HAVE NOW IS THAT ORIGINAL FENDER TELE MAPLE NECK DATED 1968 WAITING TO FIND A NICE TELECASTER BODY TO MATCH IT UP WITH. THIS TELECASTER "THINLINE" GUITAR PICTURED ABOVE IS A VERY LIGHT HOLLOW BODY TELE REISSUE OF THE 1969 MODEL ONLY THESE WERE MADE IN JAPAN BY FENDER. THE NECK AND FINISH IS FLAWLESS AND I PURCHASED THIS GUITAR NEW IN 1993. IT'S SERIAL # SHOWS IT WAS BUILT IN 1986 SO IT WAS NEW BUT ALREADY 7 YEARS OLD WHICH IS OK FOR GUITARS. THE OLDER THEY ARE ALSO MAKE THEM MORE VALUABLE. I JUST RECENTLY UPGRADED BOTH PICKUPS AND BRIDGE SADDLES AND THE GUITAR SOUNDS AND PLAYS LIKE BUTTER. REAL SMOOTH..
